Legal Receptionist

Simpson Law Firm is seeking a bright, driven Legal Receptionist to join our fast-paced and growing estate planning and estate administration practice. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone early in their professional journey who is exploring a future in the legal field, whether that means paralegal certification or law school down the road. Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and direct inquiries with a positive, professional demeanor.

  • Manage intake process: organize client folders, track data, and ensure proper follow-up.

  • Prepare and scan incoming/outgoing mail; ensure timely and accurate filing in Dropbox and client management systems.

  • Prepare legal correspondence.

  • Run office errands as needed for the office; this could include going to the post office, picking up food, supply runs, personal errands for the Firm owner.

  • Maintain a clean and welcoming office environment, coordinate conference room usage, and assist with office events.

  • Work closely with attorneys and staff to maintain workflow and ensure exceptional client experience.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; currently enrolled in a legal studies or paralegal program a plus.

  • Prior office or customer service experience.

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Word and Excel required; experience with Dropbox, Clio, or Lawmatics is a plus.

  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt in a team-centered, fast-moving environment.

  • A positive, drama-free attitude—we take our work seriously, but we also laugh a lot and support one another.

  • Possesses a fun, kind, and positive attitude that aligns with our firm’s core values.

  • This is an in-office role; candidate must be comfortable working with clients and team members in person and virtually across two office locations.

Location:

  • This is a full-time, in-office position based out of our Fort Mill office, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekly travel to our Charlotte office is required—typically twice per week—to assist with scanning, mailing, and administrative support at that location.
